RE: BIG CHANGES ARE COMING SOON (Nov 15 2023)
Huge fail with no Truck Camper sub section, and no user names to know who's who. many of us may be sticking a fork in it and saying we are done with Good Sam RV.Net.

RE: Make line on driveway for camper loading?
It's obvious that we all have different ideas that work for us depending on our trucks and campers characteristics. My GM truck box tapers and is narrower in the rear, so trying to back in using my mirrors and following the box position has proved to be futile for me. The line in the center of the camper and on the box floor was my best bet, but that only worked for the first foot or so where I could see into the box. A few years ago I invested in a Camper Cradle, it has been awesome. I can now just back in with a rubber roller as a guide and perfectly centered all the way in. A HappiJac front support bar with centering guides centers and holds the front perfectly centered also. I never have to adjust my Fastguns, and my side mirror vision is the same every time.

RE: water pump
My battery box is on the outside. The step is secured down, I felt around for screws and can’t find any. It seems to be stapled down. But I don’t want to reef on it any harder then I already have if it screws or something and can’t find them.
Try taking a magnet over the top and find the hidden screws in the carpet.

RE: Northern lite 10-2 in 2018 RAM: Bed rail height question
With both being close in age, it should be a good fit without issues. If you find you need a little lift last minute, just pickup a 4x8 sheet of pink foam board from any home/hardware store (inexpensive and lightweight).

RE: Design ideas for a platform to lower camper onto...
I just use 4 stackable screw jacks with 4x4 toppers. You can pick these jacks up at Walmart or most hardware stores for around $40. Inexpensive, works on unlevel ground as you can adjust each jack and store your camper perfectly level side to side and the front cabover slightly higher.

RE: Truck in front of the camper
I think you're dismissing the 6.0 gasser too quick, they are designed as a fleet vehicle engine and just plain last forever.

RE: HELP PLEASE... Hitch and extension ?
Whoops missed there was already a page 2. Thank you all for the feedback
1) I hear your concern about having too much weight off the front axle. I cant say I can go the scales yet. For now, hoping the airbags will help to keep the stock riding height and weight shifted correctly and the weight-distributing hitch will also help push weight forward. I have all the right wheel and suspension upgrades to stay under limitations and it drives great right now. I will for sure keep this in mind.
2) I can see about using an 18" extension. its actually a 10' floor on what should go on an 8' bed I'm using a 6.75' bed. also carry 1 1/2" plywood sheet running from the length of the bed to help distribute weight better. There's not much weight on tailgate. but will also check this out.
Is a 2.5 hitch with a proper extenion recommended or the truss 2 hitch system? Is the second one overkill?
Your camper is growing... There isn't a 10' long camper made that will fit in a 6-1/2' box properly. It will weigh well over 3,000 lbs with the COG probably over 2' behind the axle, it's just not doable.

RE: Norcold gas & electric fridge
In the hot summer months, it takes much longer to get cold, especially if empty. I normally start the refrigerator at least three days in advance so it can cool down. I also add some nonperishable already chilled/frozen things to help get it cool quicker. Remember a refrigerator/freezer removes the heat, it doesn't add cold, so you are fighting the outside ambient heat. Shade the side of your camper or add a temporary fan to help the coils remove the heat.

RE: It looks like my truck camper days are over.
It's good to see you're on the road to recovery and hopefully you will still be able to do whatever you enjoy and makes you feel good inside!

RE: Lp gas
You have to remove the regulators from the appliances (grill, griddle, etc) you are connecting to the quick connect. The gas is already regulated down at the tank to camper connection, if your grill also has a regulator, it will be double regulated and not receive enough gas flow.

RE: Wolf Creek 840 Goes Lithium
My 2014 Wolf Creek 850 also came with a WFCO power center. I used to hear people bash WFCO as a ticking time bomb, but in the 11 seasons of use, mine has been perfect. I've also not seen a single person say they have had a modern WFCO failure, maybe they stepped up their game and fixed their past issues?
